SA Sentral, new catalyst for Shah Alam city centre, now 20 pct complete

SHAH ALAM, Feb 25 — The integrated SA Sentral development is now 20 per cent done and on the right track as the new catalyst of the Shah Alam city centre’s transformation, said Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari.

He said the seven-year, long-term project has shown encouraging developments, including high advance sales.

He added that the project can be strategically combined with existing assets like the Shah Alam PKNS Complex, SACC Mall, and Plaza Alam Sentral to create a more comprehensive commercial and lifestyle ecosystem.

“Alam Sentral is being upgraded and is set to be completed after July, and will improve the area’s pull. The presence of Grand Mercure Hotel Shah Alam at Plaza Perangsang, which is targeted to start operating in August, will also add value to the city’s international-standard accommodation facilities.

“The combination of convention centres, retail, lifestyle elements and leisure facilities is set to invigorate local economic activity and make Shah Alam the destination of choice for tourists who visit Selangor,” Amirudin told a press conference after launching the Selangor Ramadan Festival (FESTIRA) at Aneka Walk in Section 14 here today.

SA Sentral is a mixed-development project by the Selangor State Development Corporation (PKNS), with a gross development value (GDV) of RM3 billion.

The 58.6ha project is expected to take seven to 10 years to complete, and will include development components including Plaza Alam Sentral, Plaza Perangsang, SACC Mall, Aneka Walk, Shah Alam PKNS Complex, and several other areas in Section 14.

The development is set to transform Shah Alam’s urban landscape through innovative design, sustainable practices, and the integration of smart-city and low-carbon features, making SA Sentral a more dynamic lifestyle and economic centre.
