SHAH ALAM, Feb 22 — The Kuala Lumpur Domestic Trade and Cost of Living Ministry (KPDN WPKL) has issued a notice to a stall at the Taman Tasik Permaisuri Ramadan Bazaar, seeking an explanation over the RM2.50 selling price of its curry puffs.
It said a team of enforcement officers had conducted a follow-up investigation at the stall following a complaint about a potato curry puff being sold for RM2.50 each.
"A local man, who claimed to be a stall worker, stated that the price was the same as in 2025 and that there had been no increase this year, even though the frozen curry puff supplier had raised their prices.
"As a result, one Notice of Confirmation of Goods Information under Section 21 of the Price Control and Anti-Profiteering Act 2011 was issued, covering five curry puff items: potato, sardine, chicken, meat, and black pepper meat.
"The party under investigation has three working days, until February 25, to submit a response," KPDN WPKL's Media Unit said in a post on Facebook last night.
This follows a viral post that criticised the RM10 selling price for four curry puffs at the bazaar.
The ministry, however, confirmed that the price tags for each type of curry puff were clearly displayed.
"KPDN WPKL will continue monitoring to ensure traders comply with existing rules and legislation to protect consumer interests."
