SHAH ALAM, Feb 19 — The Petaling Jaya City Council (MBPJ) has opened sale permit applications for firecrackers and fireworks ahead of Aidilfitri, to traders in areas under its jurisdiction.
MBPJ said applications close on February 26, while the permitted sale period is from March 5 to 27.
“All applicants must obtain approval from the Petaling Jaya branch of the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) before the list of applications is submitted to this local authority.
“After receiving PDRM approval, traders must submit an application online on the e-Lesen MBPJ system,” it said in a Facebook post.
The council reminded traders to comply with conditions, guidelines and the permitted sale period to ensure public safety and smooth operations throughout the festive period.
