Malaysia centres digital strength with three wins at ASEAN awards

PUTRAJAYA, Jan 16 — Malaysia cemented its position as a regional digital innovation leader after three homegrown companies clinched top honours at the ASEAN Digital Awards 2026, held during the ASEAN Digital Ministers Meeting 2026 (ADGMIN); a testament to the nation’s capabilities and contributions to Southeast Asia’s digital landscape.

Digital Minister Gobind Singh Deo said these achievements reflect Malaysia’s thriving digital innovation ecosystem, which continues to produce impactful solutions across various industries.

“We have winners in the health, tourism and building sectors, and I know we have many more Malaysian companies that are constantly innovating, as they push the technological boundaries with new ideas and solutions to help their respective industries,” he said in a statement today.

Gobind, who is in Hanoi for the sixth ADGMIN set to end today, said these achievements were made possible by innovation-friendly policies and a strong digital ecosystem.

“The Digital Ministry will continue to help fuel innovation by our local researchers and creators, as their products will contribute tremendously to Malaysia’s and Southeast Asia’s digital economies,” he added.

Gobind also expressed hope that more Malaysians would continue to innovate and deliver new technological solutions, positioning the country as a leading digital innovation hub powered by award-winning talent.

UMCH Technology Sdn Bhd emerged winner in the private sector category, Innoveam Sdn Bhd secured bronze, and Enfiniti Interactive Xperiences Sdn Bhd won gold in the digital content category.

UMCH Technology’s winning WeHealth initiative is an innovative, comprehensive, and evidence-based digital health system designed to transform chronic disease care and primary healthcare delivery.

Developed by researchers from Universiti Malaya, the platform connects doctors and patients through mobile applications, Internet of Things (IoT) wearables, and specialised portals, enabling a seamless, data-driven approach to healthcare.

Innoveam’s Collaveo project is a next-generation industrial computing and 3D DataOps platform that integrates 3D digital twins, real-time operational data, artificial intelligence and machine learning analytics, engineering-grade simulation, and extended reality into a secure and modular environment for mission-critical industries.

Meanwhile, Enfiniti Interactive Xperiences impressed the judges with its acclaimed Dream Forest Langkawi project, positioned as Malaysia’s first immersive night attraction.

The experience blends creative storytelling with advanced digital technologies in a 100 million-year-old rainforest, offering large-scale outdoor multisensory narratives rooted in the nation’s natural and cultural heritage.
