Exco: Pangsapuri Permai unit owners to receive early strata assistance

KUALA LANGAT, May 9 — An estimated 500 unit owners at Pangsapuri Permai, Gombak, who have long faced property ownership issues, can soon sigh a sigh of relief as they receive initial strata assistance.

State executive councillor for housing and culture Datuk Borhan Aman Shah said they will be the first group to receive support from the Strata Resolution Fund introduced this year, ensuring the security of their respective assets.

Based on available data, around 10,000 other unit owners facing similar issues will be assisted this year.

“In total, we have found that about 138,000 units face property ownership issues. So this year, we are allocating RM10 million for assistance, as these problems have persisted for decades.

“Priority is given to apartments where the ownership process is nearly complete; some are already at 70 to 80 per cent completion. That makes the process much easier,” he told the press after a community programme organised by Permodalan Negeri Selangor Berhad and the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission in Kampung Endah yesterday.

While tabling the 2025 Selangor Budget on November 15 last year, Menteri Besar Dato' Seri Amirudin Shari announced a RM10 million allocation for the initial funding of the Strata Resolution Fund.

This special allocation is intended to help improve the resolution rate of developments without strata titles in Selangor, particularly those schemes that are not eligible to apply for funding from the existing strata title special fund.

Following this, the Selangor Housing Standing Committee formed a special task force involving several agencies to study and address the issue.
