SHAH ALAM, April 20 — The water level at the Bukit Changgang station reached 4.37m at 10am today, past the danger level of Sungai Langat.
Based on an infographic by the Selangor Irrigation and Drainage Department (JPS), the Kampung Sungai Selisik station is at the warning level of 26.8m.
Meanwhile, four stations at alert level are Rantau Panjang (6.53m), Dengkil (6.66m), SKC Bridge (18.21m), and Kampung Timah Bukit Beruntung (18.93m).
Selangor JPS director Dato’ Mohd Nazri Yasmin said Kuala Langat JPS checks in the field confirmed the Bukit Changgang station showed it above danger level.
“Based on the highest level of Sungai Langat of 4.9m, we can still control it from overflowing.
“There are four pumps in operation at Sungai Langat — Bukit Changgang, RTB (flood mitigation project) Bukit Changgang, Paya Rumput, and Labohan Dagang,” he told Media Selangor.
Nazri advised the residents of Bukit Changgang to be prepared to face floods.
“JPS will continue monitoring the Sungai Langat level and operate pumphouses to ensure any overflow into residential areas can be channelled back to Sungai Langat,” he said.
