SHAH ALAM, Jan 23 — State executive councillor for rural development and unity Datuk Rizam Ismail’s father, Ismail Zakaria, passed away this morning.
Rizam, who is Sungai Air Tawar assemblyman, announced the passing in a post on Instagram today, while expressing gratitude for the condolences and prayers extended by family and friends.
“May the soul of my late father be showered with mercy, and that he be forgiven for his sins and placed among the believers,” he said.
“God willing, his funeral prayer and burial will be done at 9am tomorrow at Masjid Kampung Tebuk Mufrad in Sungai Air Tawar, Sabak Bernam.
Meanwhile, Selangor Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari expressed his condolences to Rizam and his family over Ismail’s passing in a post on social media site X.
“My heartfelt sympathies go out to YB Datuk Rizam and his family. I pray that the sins of the soul of the deceased are forgiven, and that he is showered with mercy and granted a place in the highest ranks of paradise alongside the believers.”
