SHAH ALAM, Dec 26 — Two business premises in Port Klang have been ordered to shutter after they were found to be operating without a licence.

The Klang Municipal Council (MPK) said 13 other premises were issued compounds after they were similarly found to be operating illegally during an operation conducted by the local authority last weekend.

In a Facebook post, MPK said checks were conducted on 26 premises, of which only seven had valid business licences and advertising permits, while 15 were operating without a licence.

It is understood the remaining operated with an invalid licence.

“A total of 13 compounds were issued for operating without a licence and two notices ordering the cessation of business activities have been put up on the entrance door of the premises,” it said yesterday.

The operation was conducted at Lingkaran Sultan Hishamuddin, Tanjung Harapan.

According to MPK, the operation involved the joint participation of the Enforcement Department, Licensing Department, Buildings Department, Health Department, Town Planning Department and Klang District and Land Office.
