SHAH ALAM, Feb 8 — Campsite operators in Hulu Selangor have been ordered to register their operation.
The Hulu Selangor Municipal Council (MPHS) said registration forms can be filled online by scanning the QR code or via forms.gle/hrVXFbdEZKTf2i2L7.
For further enquiries, the operators can contact MPHS Town Planning Department at 03-6064 1331 ext. 123.
On January 31, the state government instructed all campsite operators in Selangor to be registered with respective local authorities to ensure the safety of visitors beginning February 1.
State executive councillor for local government Ng Sze Han said the decision was reached through a camping site whitening guidelines preparation workshop with various agencies recently.
He explained the general conditions for approval are given according to the suitability of the campsite and the licensing conditions which are mandatory for operators on private land.
Previously, Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari said the guidelines regarding the stipulations and rules of camping activities would be enforced to ensure the safety of life.
This follows the landslide tragedy at the Father’s Organic Farm campsite, Gohtong Jaya, Batang Kali last December which claimed 31 lives.
