Nor Fuad sworn in as 10th Shah Alam mayor

SHAH ALAM, Dec 5 — Nor Fuad Abdul Hamid was sworn in as the 10th Shah Alam mayor at the swearing-in ceremony, which took place at the Town Hall, Shah Alam City Council Building (MBSA), here today.

The appointment of Nor Fuad, 51, takes effect on December 1 to replace Datuk Zamani Ahmad, who is understood to be carrying out duties at the federal level.

Nor Fuad graduated with a Doctorate of Philosophy (PhD) in the field of business economics from the University of York, England, United Kingdom, and a Masters of Business Administration (MBA).

This Selangor native has served as Selangor deputy state secretary (development) and director of the State Economic Planning Unit (Upen) in October 2019.

During his tenure as director of Upen, he developed a five-year blueprint for the development of Selangor 2021-2025, also known as the First Selangor Plan (RS-1).

Joining the public service on January 15, 1996, Nor Fuad has worked at the Ministry of International Trade and Industry (Miti), the Ministry of Entrepreneur Development, the Ministry of Plantation and Commodities and the National Institute of Public Administration (Intan).
