MPKL takes down Pantai Morib old, rotting trees for visitors' safety

SHAH ALAM, Aug 23 — Several aged trees that have since died and are rotting

along Pantai Morib were cut down earlier today, to ensure the safety and comfort of its visitors.

The Kuala Langat Municipal Council (MPKL) said the felling works carried out by its appointed contractor are also aimed at beautifying the beach, which is a popular destination for tourists.

"Tree felling work will only be carried out if the tree in question is already rotting or has died, which may pose a danger to the public due to the risk of it collapsing.

"However if the tree is still stable and healthy, then only pruning work is necessary," it said in a Facebook post.

MPKL also encouraged the public to appreciate every tree as providers and sources of oxygen for the planet.
