SHAH ALAM, Nov 24 — Over 1,200 night market traders around Klang and Shah Alam hope for a six-month exemption from paying plot rental fees to be included in the 2022 Selangor Budget (#Selangor2022) this Friday.

Shah Alam and Klang Bumiputera Night Market Traders Association chairman Kamarul Nizam Razak said it is necessary, as traders' financial situations are only beginning to recover after being affected for almost two years by the Covid-19 pandemic.

He added they hope the Selangor government will consider their request, as it could help reduce their burden.

"This year and last year, a two-month exemption was given. We only have to pay for 10 months of operation.

“However, due to the MCO (movement control order), we can only trade for four months this year because the market is closed. So we hope the Selangor government can help us in our economic recovery,” he told SelangorKini today.

The #Selangor2022 Budget which Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari will table at the State Legislative Assembly focuses on economic revitalisation, as part of the effort to help those affected by the Covid-19 pandemic.

#Selangor2022 Budget will also be live streamed via SelangorTV portal (selangortv.my).

The news reports can be read through Selangorkini (selangorkini.my) and three other editions including Mandarin (selangorkini.my/zh-hans/) and Tamil (selangorkini.my/ta/).

The English version can be found at selangorjournal.my.
