SHAH ALAM, Nov 22 — The videos of eight entrepreneurs shortlisted as finalists for the Ikon Agro Selangor 2021 will be uploaded today.
State exco for agro-based industry Izham Hashim said the public jury will have a week to evaluate and mark the videos.
"Tomorrow (today) we will upload the video of the eight finalists on Agro Selangor's YouTube channel for public jury scoring for one week," he said when contacted by SelangorKini yesterday.
The eight shortlisted entrepreneurs are Muhammad Fathullah Janal (livestock), Sri Sutesh Chelladurai (crops) and She Cheng Siang (crops), Siti Nurul Aisyah Zakariah (aquaculture), Chia Boon San (agrotourism), Cheng Poh Guat (crops), Hasbullah (livestock) and Affendi Zainuddin (crops).
The second edition of Ikon Agro Selangor offers a cash prize of RM10,000, as well as agricultural equipment assistance, and certificates.
The candidates will be evaluated based on their use of modern technology and production output, which affects 70 per cent of the marks, while the remaining 30 marks will be determined via video votes on YouTube
Ikon Agro Selangor is aimed at providing competitive guidance to new entrepreneurs in agriculture, as well as turning them into mini-ambassadors for the state.
