State govt, JPNS boost strategic collab to address high-density schools

SHAH ALAM, Jan 29 — The Selangor government will continue enhancing its strategic cooperation with the Selangor State Education Department (JPNS) to address the issue of high-density schools to empower education quality in the state.

Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari said this was the main focus of his discussion with JPNS education director Wan Nor Ashikin Abu Kassim at his office here today.

He added that their meeting was the first since Wan Nor Ashikin’s appointment, and was an important one to coordinate the cooperation between the state administration and JPNS.

“Selangor has recorded nearly one million students of various levels, and is among the states with the highest number of schoolchildren in Malaysia.

“During the meeting, we also discussed the issue of dense schools, to ensure a more comfortable, safe and conducive learning environment,” Amirudin said in a Facebook post.

According to him, close cooperation between the state government and JPNS is important to comprehensively improve education quality.

“I emphasised the importance of focusing on the three main education elements — students, teachers and parents — to ensure a balanced, comprehensive education development,” he said.

He also said various education initiatives implemented by state agencies such as Yayasan MBI and Yayasan Selangor will continue to be enhanced via integrated cooperation with JPNS.

“God willing, this strategic cooperation will continue being empowered for the Selangor children’s future,” Amirudin added.
