SHAH ALAM, Nov 27 — Selangor Halalvibe Fest 2025 returns as the state’s largest halal festival, highlighting the concept of 'Halal for All', open to all races and age groups.
Halal International Selangor (HIS) chief executive officer Muhammad Khushairi Mat Lasar said the concept was introduced to broaden public understanding that halal is not only for Muslims but also encompasses cleanliness, safety, and quality.
“Halal is for everyone. It is about hygiene, proper preparation, and high standards. Anyone can use it, regardless of race,” he said on the 'Bicara Semasa' talk show by Media Selangor, which aired on Tuesday (November 25).
300 Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprise (MSME) entrepreneurs
This year’s edition gathers more than 300 entrepreneurs covering food, fashion, halal spas, cosmetics, and lifestyle products.
Khushairi said the extensive participation aligns with HIS' efforts to bring entrepreneurs closer to consumers.
“This is the best platform for MSMEs to promote their products directly.
“We want entrepreneurs to be more competitive and ready to penetrate wider markets,” he said.
Collaboration with agencies and major brands strengthens the event
The festival also has strong support from the state government via Menteri Besar Selangor (Incorporated) or MBI, as well as the Selangor Islamic Religious Department (Jais), the Malaysian Islamic Development Department (Jakim), the Selangor Agricultural Development Corporation (PKPS), and Tourism Selangor.
Major participating companies include Agrobank, Maybank, MyCar, QSR Brands, and many others.
“This strategic collaboration strengthens the organisation of the festival. We are grateful that many major partners are helping to ensure this festival truly benefits the people,” Khushairi said.
Halal Clinic and advocacy sessions to explain certification processes
The Halal Clinic is among Selangor Halalvibe Fest's main attractions, as HIS provides clarification on the halal certification application process, which remains confusing for many.
“Many entrepreneurs do not know the steps required to apply for halal certification.
“Here we explain everything one by one, from documentation to halal standards. The aim is to increase entrepreneurs’ literacy and confidence,” he said.
Family activities for all ages, from children to senior citizens
The festival offers various activities for all ages, including a cute cat competition, a FunRun, Mamee Chef Cilik, colouring contests, Street Soccer, and cultural performances.
“We want Selangor Halalvibe Fest to be a place where families gather to eat, learn, have fun, and enjoy time together,” Khushairi said.
Halal fashion, cosmetics and lifestyle attract young people
The fashion and halal cosmetics segments are particularly appealing to young people, offering high-quality halal-certified products.
“The halal lifestyle is growing. We want young people to see halal as a modern, clean and high-quality choice,” he added.
Selangor moves toward becoming the nation’s halal hub
Khushairi noted that the festival's organisation aligns with the state government’s vision of making Selangor the nation’s halal hub through education, entrepreneurial support, and a strong halal ecosystem.
“Our goal is clear; Selangor must become the nation’s halal reference point. This festival is one of the steps towards strengthening that ecosystem,” he emphasised.
