SHAH ALAM, Oct 22 — Rapid Bus Sdn Bhd will integrate three separate demand-responsive transit (DRT) booking platforms into its Rapid On-Demand app and expand its service across 12 zones in the Klang Valley starting in November.
The unified app will replace Mobi, Trek Rides, and Kummute in a two-phase rollout, beginning November 1 for Mobi and Trek Rides zones, followed by Kummute zones in mid-November.
Some 50 vans will operate across the 12 merged and expanded zones, which include Metro Prima-Taman Beringin, Serdang Raya Utara-Pavilion Bukit Jalil, Bangi-UNITEN, Kuala Lumpur CBD, Sri Petaling-Bandar Sri Petaling, USJ 21-One City, UPM-IOI City Mall, Taman Melati-Gombak Setia, Metro Prima-Taman Bukit Maluri, Kelana Jaya-Taman SEA, Puchong Utama-Puchong Jaya, and Kampung Ampang Indah-Taman Sri Watan.
Key expansions include new coverage for Taman Intan Baiduri, Pavilion Bukit Jalil, MATRADE/Mont Kiara, TAR UMT, SS7 Kelana Jaya, Puchong Jaya, and Taman TAR.
Rapid Bus currently operates the Rapid KL On-Demand van service in the Klang Valley.
Its acting chief executive officer Ku Jamil Zakaria said the integration addresses a major pain point for users who previously had to use different apps depending on their zone, which often caused confusion.
“With one app, booking becomes faster and more straightforward across all service areas," he said in a statement today, adding that the RM1 promotional fare will continue.
The zone mergers will also improve point-to-point connectivity without requiring passengers to switch services mid-journey. Users must update or download the Rapid On-Demand app before November 1 to maintain access.
Payment options include Touch ‘N Go cards, MyRapid concession cards, debit or credit cards, OKU Smile Pass, and unlimited travel passes (My50, MyCity, MyTourist, and Family Pass).
