SHAH ALAM, Sept 25 — The Selangor Creative Economy Expo 2025 (SCEE25) has been hailed as a vital platform uniting industry players, from household names like Todak Culture Sdn Bhd and Les’ Copaque Production Sdn Bhd to up-and-coming companies.
The inaugural event, held on September 23 and 24, also showcased new innovations while giving young people the opportunity to build confidence in pursuing careers in the sector.
Les’ Copaque Production animation director Nik Ahmad Rasyidi Nik Othman said the expo allows smaller companies to showcase their businesses, helping them advance to a higher level.
“We are participating in this expo as a successful company in the creative industry to support other companies. Our presence is hoped to encourage more emerging companies to step forward and make a name in the industry," he told Media Selangor.

Sharing the same view, Experiential Design Team producer Mahesh Ragupathy sees SCEE25 as an opportunity to expose the public to the creative industry.
“This expo has the potential to change public perception that the creative industry can generate the economy and has a bright future. Our focus is on edutainment products that combine learning and entertainment."
Todak Culture chief executive officer Hakimi Haque said SCEE25 is more than just a space to showcase products, as it also contributes to the development of the e-sports industry and boosts the state economy.
“Talent scouting in e-sports is still limited as it is a relatively new field, but public acceptance is growing."
Company chief operating officer Roslan Rashid said the success of the Selangor Red Giants team has opened the public’s eyes to the potential of e-sports and increased parents’ confidence in allowing their children to venture into the field.

“Support from the state government and the education department has facilitated the search for quality talent and strengthened programmes at Todak Academy,” he said.
Meanwhile, KL Sketch Nation founder Ahmad Hakym Ahmad Hilmy said the initiative to organise SCEE25 opened up opportunities for collaboration among art and creative practitioners, while helping to expand branding on a global scale.
“This expo can boost public confidence in local products and serve as a reference point to know where Malaysian products can be found,” he said.
SCEE25 serves as a platform to position Selangor as a regional creative hub, with the state targeting the creative sector to contribute RM20 billion to the gross domestic product (GDP) by 2035.
Over the two-day event, organised in collaboration with Selangor Youth Community (SAY), the programme highlighted six key catalysts, including talent development, market access, and financing.
Themed “Re:Imagine Selangor — Creativity is the New Economy”, the programme also focused on infrastructure readiness, digital empowerment, and governance enhancement.
