KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 30 –Yayasan Menteri Besar Selangor (Incorporated), or MBI, has allocated RM20,000 to implement a drone technology learning project at four schools.
Its chief Ahmad Azri Zainal Nor said the funds will cover the purchase, training, and education on drone technology for four Kajang and Cheras schools, which are SK Seri Jelok, SK Cheras Jaya, SMK Jalan Reko, and SMK Bandar Seri Putra.
“Yayasan MBI aims to instil the importance of drones today, which is being expanded to job sectors such as food delivery and agriculture, not just for recreational purposes,” he said after a drone handover ceremony today, which was held in collaboration with Meraque Group and the Malaysian Research Accelerator for Technology and Innovation.
Meanwhile, Meraque chief executive officer Md Razalee Ismail said the learning module will also cover regulations, safety, components, control, and applications of drone technology.
Razalee said drone learning will expose students to the concepts of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics to enhance their knowledge.
“Our drones are capable of flying up to 10 technologies or these devices simultaneously, as they are equipped with advanced software management.
“It will also foster creativity and expand students’ knowledge in controlling drones without using a remote control,” he said.
