PUTRAJAYA, July 27 — The Education Ministry (MOE) is partnering with Apple to implement the Apple Learning Coach programme, which aims to assist teachers in fully leveraging Apple technology for teaching and learning.
For a start, 1,500 selected teachers nationwide will undergo training through a free professional certification programme that will start this year.
It said the programme participants will follow an online curriculum guided by Apple Professional Learning Specialists, including self-access modules and live virtual workshops over two days.
“This professional development will contribute towards professional learning credit for teachers,” MOE said in a statement today.
The initiative aligns with the Digital Education Policy (DPD), particularly Core Two, which prioritises the enhancement of educators’ digital competencies through continuous professional development programmes.
“This programme is also in line with Core Six of the DPD, which involves partnering with companies like Apple to accelerate the achievement of the policy’s vision of producing a digitally literate and competitive generation by enhancing the skills of 100,000 teachers by 2027,” it said.
