SHAH ALAM, July 11 — Fifty-five Smart Selangor Bus units have been fitted with attractive advertisement panels promoting tourism hotspots around the state in conjunction with Visit Selangor Year 2025.

State executive councillor for local government and tourism Dato’ Ng Suee Lim said the advertising campaign, with RM250,000 in funding, aims to promote Selangor’s nine districts with the support of five local authorities.

Ng said the local authorities involved are the Shah Alam City Council, Petaling Jaya City Council, Subang Jaya City Council, Sepang Municipal Council and Kajang Municipal Council.

“Smart Selangor Bus is a main public transport medium, with more than 160 buses operating statewide along more than 50 routes, with 5.37 million passengers logged last year.

“This makes Smart Selangor Bus an effective promotional medium for early introduction of Visit Selangor Year 2025 in the domestic market,” he said.

Ng said this at a press conference after the launch of Smart Selangor Bus advertisement panels, which was officiated by Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari at the State Secretariat building here today.

Ng said the campaign, which was done in collaboration with Rapid Bus Sdn Bhd, is a strategy by Tourism Selangor to involve the private sector in the development of the state’s tourism industry.

He said the 55 Smart Selangor Bus units will advertise tourist attractions such as Sunway Lagoon, Kajang Once Upon A Time Walk, Sultan Salahuddin Abdul Aziz Shah Mosque, and SS15 Subang Jaya.

“The collaboration between Tourism Selangor and Smart Selangor Bus has given tourism operators in the state the opportunity to draw local and international tourists,” he added.
